More than 36 artistes from various states of the country, put up a fabulous show of different dance forms, including – kuchipudi, bharatnatyam, mohiniyattam and Manipuri. “We came to know about this fest through newspapers and finally, we made up our mind to be here on the last day. I am enjoying to the fullest,”said Seema Jaiswal, a guest at the do. “Although, western dance influences youngsters, but the abhinaya ( acting) and expression of classical dance is unmatchable,” remarked VK Mohd, the organising secretary of Nrithanrithyati.
“Watching these talented dancers perform with such finesse is an inspiration for me. I came to learn a few tips from them,” said Subrat Sarkar, a dance student. Anupama Mohan, who has performed kuchipudi in international dance festivals in Italy and France was mighty impressed with Bhilai’s crowd. “The audience here understands classical dance forms. It is an honour for me to perform in front of such culturally-inclined people,” she said.
